This is the point:

01. Dream Boat - 95
02. Deerhunter - 66
03. GuMMy†Be▲R! -  45
04. Hype Williams - 42
05. Salem - 37
06. oOoOO - 30
06. Blackbird Blackbird - 30
08. Twin Shadow - 26
09. U.S. Christmas - 22
10. Gonjasufi – 19

This week in paragraph style: New Dream Boat album is brilliant. It utilises crude and basic drum machine beats, so do not approach it if you are overly sensitive to primitivism as a positive aesthetic option. New Hype Williams 3 track ep is just that - fuckin’ HYPE.  Really into the totally dazed music and vocal drawl. Much like SALEM. Don’t understand people’s problem with the rapping at all – if they think it should be ultra tight and somehow concurrent with rap standards (whatever that is), then they miss the point of why the album works – as a group operating on entirely their own terms from within their own environment; as heavy as a codeine blackout.  oOoOO ep is slightly disappointing because it doesn’t have Seaww on it, or anything else that replicates the intense paranormal hypnagogic atmosphere of it. The DiS review of USX album was pretty spot on – doesn’t hold the attention anywhere near as cinematically as Eat The Low Dogs, which was end to end incredible Stooges&Spritualised cross pollinated cosmic desert rock.

Track of the week: Khmury – Jam session #1 : www.mediafire.com/?jzd2wfxmkni
