If you thought Lays the Boogie Down was heavy sink your frontal lobe into the thirteen slices of deep trance funk Adam Forkner has just served up and see how it grabs you.  A couple of lengthy deep trance numbers rub up against a lot of shawter grindier jams.  This one brings the glitch from the off on the title track; after that Dr Pizza gets into his Purple&Green mode with some sexually driven smoothed down, screwed down grooves on Stark Naked Bluster and Hermeto Swang.  The record starts popping it's body all over the shop switching between liquid funk of Stop It Boogie to the hard beats & bass, sometimes folding them in together like on the highlight Thug Dubs Mo Poppin.

You just need to hear this one, there's only so much words can do.  All those track titles should seduce you strong enough.

STREAM: DJ Dr Pizza's Beats Meets White Rainbow & Sgt Forkner in a Dark Shades Drive: Dark Prince

Adam Forkner has dropped another extended cosmic electro jam of epic proportions onto his Soundcloud, along with a host of other new tracks but this is the pick.  Worthy of the grandiose title in which he name drops three of his aliases to full effect: DJ Dr Pizza's Beats Meets White Rainbow & Sgt Forkner in a Dark Shades Drive: Dark Prince
Really needs to start pressing more of this stuff to wax.  Stream it, feel it, believe it.

STREAM: Purple & Green set

Purple & Green is the New Jack Funks Duo of Adam "Dr ""White Rainbow"" Pizza" Forkner (the man with more layers than a cheese supreme) and Justin jGreeN Johnson - an R&B vocalist freshly timeported in from the Teddy Riley heyday. Not content with laying the boogie down last month, 2011's king cosmonaut is back playing glorious soulful club music straight out of the heart of Portland, Forkner's supple blend of cosmic psychedelia synth workouts and echoplex delay mayhem throbs, pulses and spirals about the honey tones of Johnson across these three tracks of sensual body popping class.  There's even a video for the second track in this set, Human Nature - which is already a Michael Jackson song title, a well they know, the scamps.

3 track of slowly uncoiling cosmic trance to sink yourself into, for free (name your price).  A brain-obliterating psychedelic disco pulse and phaser strafed audio psych-out session with the mystic pizza man himself Adam Forkner - and when he lays the boogie down he lays it down hard.

STREAM: Bradley & Geofrey: MR STEVEN'S PRIVATE SERVICE (White Rainbow & Bradford Cox jam)

Two things today that the world probably should experience for different reasons.  This first one, because it was supposed to stay unheard the second we'll get to shortly.  How this has managed to stay under everyone's radar for two weeks is a mystery considering who it involves on vocals. I posted a collab track between Adam Forkner's White Rainbow and Stag Hare last week and today I am posting this; White Rainbow with Bradford Cox - of Deerhunter/Atlas Sound infamy, as well you already know - doubling up in what sounds like a really really blitzed late night jam session, singing in a dreamy, languid drawl that drifts into some kind of reggae style skanking lope trailing off with commentary and observational ad-libs. "Next track Forkner, this ones done".  Any chance of a teaming up with Amanda Brown's LA Vampires Bradford?

Forkner keeps up his sincere trancey ebb and flow despite the ridiculousness, which works really well given that a lot of ambience could do with being injected with a shot of humour.  Well hidden inside Forkner's Soundcloud account, it can hardly stay that way for long, even if only as a curious exhibit.  Awesome genre tag too. Ha.

STREAM: White Stag - Shhooopeey Shoop Mega Tuff House Remix

This is an album that appeared in my top 50 last week, but I thought I'd highlight this one track again, and because in writing up my list I noticed the 12" is still available.

Stag Hare teams up with White Rainbow to form the regally named White Stag duo to produce a technicolour disco-drone collaboration that takes the rustic elements of the former weaves them into the transcendental psychic rays of the latter then scrubs some insistent house beats all over the shop and blasts the thing into the italo-cosmos. Beautiful stuff.  Go to Marriage Records and get the limited 500 edition hand painted/screened vinyl version (comes with digital download)
