o F F / GR†LLGR†LL Part 2 - Emodancers / Happy Face

First official release from the witch house fallout project of o F F and GR†LLGR†LL. After meeting a a club in Paris and hooking their musical minds into each other they released videos of them playing live sets in a car, in bed together then released the properly recorded Emodancers Never Stop at the end of 2010; now Recorder are releasing the double sided Emodancers / Happy Face tracks for just €2 on their Bandcamp.

These two tracks are the first salvo in a series of releases lined up for the coming months. Good news for those that like their summers disturbed by slowly screwed wyrd emotive electro.

German dark-ambient/witch house soundscapists Vortex Rikers have joined up with the US slash/chop&screwer GR†LLGR†LL to bring a slice of haunted vocal ectoplasm to float through your speakers.  There's a heavy feel of Fever Ray about this, something in the way the vocals melt into the swelling synth hums really brings that looming cover art character to mind; the track summoning the same controlled power as that spinning forcefield/energy beam she's holding between her hands.

It's Friday in the PM, time to get something fierce on! Gonna start doing this every week from now on, round about this time posting up something juiced to kick it up a little. Last week I did Sleigh Bells, this week its White Ring. Looks like a massive part of this year is going to be all about Witch House for me - dark, spooky werehouse & beat-heavy keygaze! Get ready to herald in a load of occult-oriented takes on olde gynrys!

This may not be super fast but it carries the intensity of a thousand moonless nights; sounding like Crystal Castles getting k-holed into a corner and fighting their way back out again. Danceable, really pretty, pretty ugly, totally fucked.
